SMART CLARK GIGA CITY–Defending champion San Miguel arrested its losing skid after beating sister team Barangay Ginebra, 81-66, in the PBA Philippine Cup on Sunday night at the Angeles University Foundation Arena here.

Mo Tautuaa tallied a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds as the Beermen ended a two-game slide and clinched at least a playoff berth with a 6-4 record.

San Miguel also kept its twice-to-beat bid alive after forging a four-way tie at No. 4 with Meralco, Alaska and Magnolia.

Despite the defeat, the Kings remained atop the standings with a 7-3 slate and a head-to-head advantage over TNT (7-3).

Ginebra could secure a twice-to-beat edge with a win over cellar-dweller Terrafirma on Monday.
