Barangay Ginebra San Miguel punched its ticket to the semifinals after eliminating Rain or Shine, 81-73, Friday night in the PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Center.

Japeth Aguilar scored a season-high 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds while Stanley Pringle made clutch baskets that enabled the top seed Kings to pull away and make short work of the eighth-ranked Elasto Painters.

Ginebra will face the winner of Sunday’s knockout game pitting defending champion San Miguel Beer and Meralco in a best-of-five duel which starts Wednesday.
