Alaska booked a place in the quarterfinals after fending off NorthPort, 102-94, Friday in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Center.

Six players scored in double figures led by 16 points each from Rodney Brondial and Abu Tratter as the Aces assured themselves of a place in the last eight while moving to sixth place in the standings with a 6-4 record.

Brondial also grabbed 10 rebounds in 24 minutes off the bench to help Alaska boost its chances of securing a top four finish at the end of the eliminations.

Christian Standhardinger dropped a season-high 39 points but his individual performance wasn’t enough as the Batang Pier fell to 1-7, tied at the bottom with the Terrafirma Dyip
